Dependable Water Solutions Since 1945
Trusted water well drilling for homes, farms, and commercial properties across Eastern Indiana and Western Ohio — from new installations to repairs, cleaning, inspections, and abandonment services.
Since 1945
Wiley Well Drilling is a well drilling contractor based at 900 N 650 E in Union City, Indiana. We have drilled water wells for homes, farms, and businesses on both sides of the state line since April 1945. That is over 80 years in the trade, and new water well drilling is still the main thing we do.
Union City is really two towns, one in Indiana and one in Ohio, with the state line running right down the middle. So our phone rings with 765 and 937 numbers alike, and a water well contractor from here learns the ground on both sides. We drill household wells and irrigation wells, and we get a quotation back to you within 24 hours.
If you searched for a well drilling contractor near me from a farm outside Winchester or a new build near Portland, our shop is probably closer than you think.

Drilling leads the list. But the phone rings just as often because a well pump quit, the pressure dropped, or there is no water at all. We handle well pump replacement and well repair for residential and commercial systems. Here is the work our crew does pretty much every day:
Shower goes weak every time the washer kicks on? Ask about constant pressure systems. For cleaning, chlorination, and well inspections, see our full list of water well services.

Credentials
We are proud to be a licensed Indiana Well Driller and registered with the state of Ohio. As members of the Indiana Ground Water Association and the National Ground Water Association, we stay current on the standards behind every new well we drill.
Before you hire any well drilling contractor, ask how long they have been at it. Plenty of well drillers are small local shops, and so are we. Ours has just been open since 1945. Read more about the Wiley family or look through photos from recent jobs.

Customer reviews
Very professional. Had my pressure tank and well pump replaced in less than 2.5 hours. Will definitely use this company again.
Great team. Residential pump went out Monday before I had to leave on a trip. They were out the next day earlier than planned. Got right to work explaining everything as they went. Very friendly hard working team. I am so grateful for their expertise and work ethic. On top of that they gave me a fare price which I didn’t see from other companies in the area. Can’t reccomend highly enough! Thanks guys you’re life savers.
Wiley Well Drilling is the BEST company I have ever had a pleasure to do business with!! From the analysis of my well to the digging and hook up, it was a great smooth process. I have dealt with many contractors and companies that lack professionalism and customer service, BUT Wiley Well Service, Larry, Brendan, and Spencer were such a Pleasure to work with! Do not call ANYONE else but WILEY Well Drilling for your well needs!!
They are so efficient and great at their jobs. When you call they will come by the next day and they do awesome work. Will tell everybody please contact Wiley’s for a job that needs fixing right.
Had my well pump short out and called them Sunday morning. They offered to have someone come out right away. They showed up within an hour and had the system back up and running an hour after that. Very responsive, polite, and professional.

Yes. An irrigation well is sized for volume, not just a household, and we drill and install them for farms and larger properties across the region. We drill residential drinking water wells and commercial wells too.
We work out of Union City, Indiana and cover Greenville, Muncie, Winchester, Troy, Richmond, Portland, Piqua, Sidney, New Castle, Eaton, Bluffton, and Fort Recovery, plus the farm country in between.
Yes. Well abandonment is the proper decommissioning of a well that is no longer in use, so it stops being a hazard and a path for surface water to reach the groundwater. If the old well still has life in it, cleaning and chlorination may bring it back instead.
Yes. We repair and replace pressure tanks, and we install constant pressure pump systems for homes where the water goes weak every time a second tap opens.
